Statistical Properties of Individual Cell Trajectories Within a Monolayer of Human Bronchial Epithelial Cells

This research analyzes the motion patterns of human bronchial epithelial cells to assess whether their trajectories follow Lévy walk dynamics—a hallmark of super-diffusion. The findings reveal that while early motion appears super-diffusive, long-term behavior is better modeled by a density-dependent process, challenging classical assumptions in cell motility modeling.
